The Right Attitude to Keep Earning a Sustainable Online Income

It’s not just about making money, but earning a decent amount to compensate your time and effort while working online.

With different freelancing sites available these days, online opportunities seem to be endless and you can always find a way to make money from the internet. Aside from earning from your blogs, you can also earn from something you are more passionate about. That includes article writing, web designing, photo editing and even researching.

You can work from home with your laptop and reliable internet connection. The question is, do you have the right attitude to get started? And once you’ve found your self working in a virtual world, do you have what it takes to be successful? Here’s a checklist for self evaluation:

  • 1. Patience

Don’t expect for job offers to pour in if it’s your first time in a freelancing community. Create your profile, apply for jobs and be patient. Do something more productive while waiting for application results. Usually, clients are in a different timezone and it will take time to get back to you. Read some online tips and interview guidelines while waiting for your turn to get called. And just when you’re not hired, don’t give up easily.

  • 2. ย Persistence

Keep trying. If you’ve been patient in checking job openings and revising your cover letter, then you should also be persistent in applying for your desired position. Don’t block a certain client from your list if you have been rejected once. Sometimes, they wouldn’t consider you for one position but hire you in another. Plus, there might be similar job openings from the same client who might hire you the next time you apply.

  • 3. Confidence

Believe in yourself. Don’t let others, even your competitors and clients discount your abilities. There are jobs with too many qualifications but don’t be afraid to apply to those kinds of job posting. Sometimes, the written description are just too technical than the actual job. And when it comes to monetary pay, consider your real worth before accepting offers that are lower than your expectations.

  • 4. Dedication

It’s difficult to be dedicated to something you don’t really like. So it is important to get a job you’re interested with. Your passion can motivate you! Once you have online tasks, make sure that you finish it on time. Impress your client with quality work!

  • 5. Open-mindedness

While applying for online jobs or working from home, you will acquire a lot of experience. Remember that there’s a reason for everything and you just have to accept it. At some point, you’ll have to think in a client’s perspective to understand how business works.

These are just the top 5 must-have attitude for aspiring online earners. Several other positive attitude stems out from them such as resourcefulness, creativity, focus and more.

Online projects come and go. And to keep making money online, you should always be armed with excellent skills and right attitude. Once you’ve ย finished your online contract, you might have to start the process of job hunting again so always remember the above tips.

  • I can’t agree more to all that you said. When I first started out as a freelancer, I thought of giving up many times when I get rejected by clients. Keeping all those right attitudes and also looking at other freelancers profiles kept me going. I made them my role models. I thought to myself, if they can do it then I can also do it! So if I may add, being positive and looking for others to serve as good examples will also be good attitudes to keep earning decent online income:)

  • As a freelance writer, I can totally relate to this post. Even though I’ve been writing online for six years now, I find myself practicing patience, persistence, dedication and open-mindedness. Because projects come and go, there’s always that feeling of starting all over again whenever I’m on the hunt for new projects. Competition is quite stiff, too, so I need to do my best to stand out and offer something new.

But I have no regrets. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I haven’t tried online freelancing jobs, but would like to consider it. Btw, those attitudes you listed should not be limited to those in the online freelancing jobs, but to life in general as well.. ๐Ÿ™‚
